My Bucket List: Fly Fishing in Montana

I've been fascinated with going fly fishing since seeing A River Runs Through It years and years ago.  I'm not a fisherman.  In fact---I think fishing is rather boring and I really don't enjoy touching slimy things at all.  I don't know if it's because Brad Pitt is in it or if it's the serene landscape, but this movie has absolutely made me want to do this.  I think the reason I don't enjoy fishing is because I'm rather impatient and sitting for hours waiting for something to happen is just not my thing.  I do think I'd enjoy fly fishing though, because it seems more 'action packed' to me......a lot more involved than just throwing a line in and waiting for a bite.  I could be wrong---I may hate it---but I'm going to try it.  If nothing else I'll get to enjoy this beautiful scenery...........

Brad Pitt probably won't be there, so he's just here for us all to enjoy now.

    1. I can not say for sure, but I believe it is Ice Berg Lake in Glacier Park. It is a bit of a hike but views are breath taking.

  4. I hope you can come and enjoy Montana. I grew up here and don't particularly like to fish. Give me a few beers, inner-tube and the Bitterroot River from Kona Bridge in Missoula to Harper's Bridge and your in for a great couple hour float.

  5. To think that such a landscape as is pictured in number 4 down resplends America, and not some far off nation to whose rocks I'd not be privy without a passport and several thousand extra dollars renews my spirit. Despite the untold desecration that marks our past & present dealings with this vast and sacred land, that such vistas still grace us inspires hope.
